I Hope everyone is having a great summer free from school ... wait, we've got summer school attendees, so I guess I'll just say, hope everyone is having a great summer! These past months have been filled with a few events and a few joyous celebrations!!! First off, we had retreat in Oxnard during mid-May. At retreat we started planning for RUSH 2001 and we are all excited for another rush and another year.

This summer is definitely a summer filled with Delta Weddings. Recently, Delta Alum Jenny Lin ('93) married _______ on June __,in Southern California. Her pledge sis Vincy Chao served as her Maid of Honor. It was a ___________________. Next up we have a wedding this Friday, July 6. This wedding will be another DELTA/GAMMA wedding for the history books. "Delta Goddess" Vincy Chao ('93) will be marrying her college sweetheart, Pledge Bro, Gamma Alum Alexander Chan. Their celebration will be in Woodside, CA at the Thomas Fogarty Winery.Many Deltas and Gammas are set to attend, as well as myself.

Marrisa Caritan ('98) will also be gettin married this fall to Raymond Tan. But before she gets married, she will be giving birth to a baby boy due July 15. Marissa and Raymond are still debating over the baby boy's name. Marissa would like Masaon Alexander while Raymond would like Raymond Jr. As of now, sources say Marissa will come out on top with Mason Alexander. Deltas wish her the very best for the Tan Clan!

Aside from the numerous weddings and stork droppings, we have also been actively fundraising inorder to fund RUSH. We have been working crowd control at concerts such as DAVE MATTHEW'S BAND and WANGO TANGO, both @ Dodger Stadium. These events have definitely been memorable as we have had to work hard at these venues as we stand continously for 8-9 hours in 90 degree heat. But, as arduous as it sounds, we are earning the needed money, and as they say, you gotta take one for the team!

During the summerr, we will also worked a few service events such as the Dime Pitch at the local Church of Jenn Ito, the Obon Festival and the infamous LA Tofu Festival! As we are founded on friendship and service, Deltas also won the Service Competition within AGC by doing the most community service events throughout this past year. We would like to thank our '00-'01 Service Chair Kellyn Wong ('00) for all her hard work.

As one year end, another continues. The end of one story, is the beginning of another. As we approach another year, we arelooking forward in seeing our sorority grow while teaching new initiates what it takes to be Deltas. We have more events planned this coming year with Alumni including aa possible Delta/Gamma Alumni Career Day and Lucheon. Until the next newsletter, I hope everyone is doing well.

As for Deltas, we have been growing in the past couple of years and currently have 14 pledges this year. We care currently planning many things including:
* a pledge/active football game in early January
* a dance routine to enter in the annual AGC Talent Show in April
*participation in the upcoming Songfest put on by IFC/Panhellenic this Spring
* and of course, events for Inspiration Week.

Delta Engagement:
Marissa Caritan ('98) engaged to Raymond Tan and are planning to get married FALL 2001.

New Delta Mother:
Marissa Caritan('98) gave birth to her babyboy this July. Mariss and Raymond have named him Mason Emanuel Tan.

Deltas Studying Abroad for the Summer:

Jennifer Tong('99) studied abroad in Dijon, France until mid.- August this summer. Bon Jour, Mademoiselle!
